Run United 1 beneficiary is
GAWAD Kalusugan (the health program of Gawad Kalinga) and Hero Foundation.
What can you say about it?
This is my first time to join Run
United and I wish to complete this to Run United 2 and 3. During the event, I
thought I can’t make it to the finish line because I am having trouble with my
left knee. It was aching when I reach, I guess, 3K to 4K so I need to stop
running and do the brisk walk or run slowly. I keep telling myself, “You can do
it, man! You can do it!” And when I reached 8K I pushed myself to run until I
got into the finish line. So, I must say “I survived RU1!” By the way, the
event was very organized and congratulations to the organizer and the staff of
the events. I am looking forward to the Run United 2 and 3.

Why join?
I join the event because I want
to change my boring lifestyle into a healthy lifestyle and to have a strong
body as well. Indulging me into this kind of activities helps me to stay fit
and improves my body and minds.
Reason to run:
My goal for this year is to run
16K which I need more practice that’s why I joined running. Also, I want to have a firm/lean
body.

How did you get started running?
It’s me and my friend’s idea to
join the Milo Marathon, last 2010. It was just an awesome experienced; we
enjoyed a lot during those events. And the second and third run that I joined
was “Run for life” and “Run for hope”. I stop running last year, I don’t know
what happen, and maybe I was lazy to register or to practice every weekend. But now, I am back to
the world of running! Lol!
Sharing with you the top three
tips of running from Jaymie Pizarro of thebullrunner.com:
- “Listen to everyone, follow no one,” said Lance Armstrong. You’re the only one who knows your body. Do what you feel is right.
- Start slowly. Don’t run too fast. Don’t run too far. Don’t do both at the same time! Start gradually to ensure that you’re injury free. No rush!
- Enjoy it. Don’t take running too seriously. It’s supposed to enhance your life, not take over.
Congrats and you have good reasons to join the event, bro.
